Who is Laura? I’m a storyteller, I use the power of copy and visual combined to successfully convey a narrative.

I have experience working in both contract and full time environments, working both B2B and B2C/D2C.

I studied Graphic Design at College and then at University both in the south of the UK. A highlight of my education was being elected Vice, and then President of my College.

In my final year, I was awarded for my Contribution to the Reputation of the College.

My first role after University was a contract role to manage an annual event held at Alexandra Palace. This was their best performing event in the past five years, with a 98% positive response rate post event.

Due to this being such a success, I was hired for a similar contractual role, creating and running events. These projects generated 50% of the pipeline for that year!

After this, I transitioned into a FT opportunity which allowed me to strengthen my skills as a content creator. I put brand consistency in place in a sales enablement process, which resulted in a faster sales cycle (accelerated by 25%). I am incredibly grateful for this opportunity, and everything I learnt here, it helped me get my next role after Furlough.
My next role is where I gained my fast paced agency experience. I implemented a digital function to the client package, which generated an additional 25% revenue. Even though I enjoyed this environment greatly, I had hit the ceiling of growth, which is why I left to develop my skills as a Marketing Manager. I developed the marketing strategy so that it aligned with their KPIs and goals.

My challenge became the lengthy commute five days a week. This took a toll on my health (and my productivity levels) so I decided to move on to a fully remote role as Senior Marketing Communications Specialist, this was with a focus on the brand.
I grew the brand into a stable positive name, that led to higher Impressions, Engagement Rate, Direct Messages. Overall, I created a stronger brand awareness, reputation and equity. I love this team dearly, and have made many connections from it. I am very grateful to have such a supportive network. We have all been there for each other, and celebrated each other's successes after the mass layoff which resulted due to the company running out of financing from the rising cost of capital.

The start of Freelancing

Where I went from here is what led me to pursue my freelancing career full time. I took on a contract role as a Marketing Manager. I loved the freedom and flexibility so much that I decided to take the jump in my next role. I'll be honest, it wasn't a smooth jump. After being in the corporate world for so long, I was struggling how to present myself.
But, I quickly got the hang of it, and went on to gain clients as an all round Marketing Manager. My aim is not to gain as many clients as possible, but to maintain long lasting relationships.

I'm also happy to help out with the odd piece of work or consulting, as well.

Brand Guidelines

I explored many ideas before reaching this result and was so pleased when I realised it looked like a smiling face, more importantly my smiling face with my glasses, as it is the exact message of friendliness that I want to convey.

My favourite colour varies from the brightest red to the softest pink, so I decided my consistent design to be the similar colours used rather than just one in particular. I used Adobe Colour Wheel to influence my ideas.
