I had such a great time at College, that once graduating in August 2018, I went back to my College as a volunteer designer to support the Marketing team at this busy time and to gain some more valuable industry experience. The College was getting ready for the new school year; some students coming back to continue their course and new students starting their course for the first time.
Every year the College celebrates the achievements and hard work of the students with the Annual Awards Ceremony. Using InDesign I laid out the photos of the students with their awards with their names in a consistent design so that it could work as one design on the wall. I also communicated with the print department to get them printed and cut each print down to size so that they would fit the glass frame perfectly. This was a special project for me as I received an award myself for my contribution to the reputation of the college as Student President, and so I feel it is really important that the College acknowledges the students achievements.
Alumni Stand at Progression Fair
On Feb 13th, 2019 I was invited back to my College as part of an Alumni stand at their Progression Fair to talk to students about life after College.
I really enjoyed this! It was great to be back at such a wonderful College, and support students in any way I can. I took with me a portfolio of things I have done ranging from designs to events, along with my business cards and CVs for students to take to help them with their own.
I found at that stage I struggled with direction of what would be helpful in the future and a CV is definitely one of those things! Also I had saved the sheet I received from University on what to bring for my interview, as it is helpful to have a good idea of what to expect.
It was an honour to be interviewed on my progression from College to University and then to getting my job. This was used in the College Marketing Communications. A snippet of this being featured on the College Instagram Story can be seen below!
